My name is Patricia and the reason I started BoldlySteppingUp.com is to support others in their journey of faith in becoming a strong woman of God or a strong man of God as well as helping others in following their dreams. I want to be all that God has created me to be and that journey starts with being healthy, understanding who God says I am, and stepping out boldly in faith into all He has called me to be no matter what circumstances may look like.
We all have something we struggle with, whether it be our weight, our finances, our health, or something else. However, the most important thing that God has shown me, is how very much he loves me. He never gives up on any of us.
I hope to share many of the lessons that God has shown me throughout the years and I pray that they will be a blessing to you. I want to encourage you in your walk with God.
I don’t pretend to have all the answers but I do know what God has placed on my heart and want to share it with you.
First, here’s my story….
I grew up in the Seattle area, the oldest of 3 children. Some time after college, I went on to become a missionary and actress with a group called the Covenant Players. It was while I was touring in Covenant Players that I developed my passion for writing beginning with poetry and journaling. It connected me to God and helped me to better hear that still small voice of the Holy Spirit.
Growing up, I had a poor self-image. For too many years, I defined myself by what I looked like or what job I had or by doing things just right. The last thing I knew was how to become a strong woman of God. Oh yes, I was a Christian. But, because I based my identity on how I looked or how I performed or on the opinions of other people, I never thought I was good enough.
It took a long time, but I finally understand that God’s opinion is the only one that really matters. Thanks to God’s infinite mercy and grace and patience, He has taught me to trust that He does not make mistakes. Because of that, I am not a mistake and you are not a mistake.
In Psalm 139:13 it says “For you created my inmost being: you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”
I find this very inspiring because it means that God created me just as I am from the color of my hair to my love for writing. I hold onto this scripture because it reminds me that I can be confident in who I am because He created me the way He did on purpose for a purpose. And the same applies to you too.
I encourage you to be confident in who you are in every way. Let the love God has for you inspire you, as it has me, and learn how to become a strong woman of God or a strong man of God. Take hold of all that He has for you.
