The majesty of God is hard to fathom. You can see the majesty of God from Genesis to Revelation and everything in between. God shows us that he is-
“the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” Revelation 22:13.
The Majesty of God in Creation
The world began with him and it will end with him also. He created the heavens and the earth and he created the very cells that hold our bodies together.
In Genesis 1:1 it says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
What a powerful statement! When I look outside at the blue sky as far as the eye can see or I go to the ocean and see it roar with power, I see God and I wonder at what my God must be like- he who created this beautiful world. Every mountain, every flower and every animal he created.
He “created my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb” Psalm 139:13
When I look at the stars in the heavens, there are so many that it is impossible to count them.
Psalm19:1-4 accurately states, “The heavens declare the glory of god; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”
One of my favorite things to do at night is to gaze up at the moon and the stars on a clear, starry night and when I do I often think of that verse. I wonder how can people not know that there is a loving God out there when there is so much beauty.
Yes, there are all kinds of scientific explanations for what we see, but things had to begin somewhere and that somewhere is God. How can you not look at creation and see the majesty of God in everything?
Many of the scientific explanations out there back up the creation story. It seems like Science is always making a new discovery.
For instance, when you compare the earth to some stars out there such as Betelgeuse, the earth is but a speck of dust and yet God chose to populate earth the only habitable planet that we know of.
God gave the earth to man as it states in Psalm 115:16,
“The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to man.”
What a precious gift. From the earth, we have life-giving plants, fruits and vegetables to support life. We have water to quench our thirst. A precious world that was created
“By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.” Psalm 33:6-9
Over and over again, God tells us how he is the one who created all things.
Isaiah 44:24, “This is what the Lord says- your redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself.”
We can see God in all creation, the same way we can see the artist through his paintings or catch a glimpse of the writer through their books and articles. We can get an idea of what a person is like through their work ethics, their passions, and their attitudes.
We can see what God is like also by looking at what he created- everything. From the stars in the heavens to our inmost being, he created it all.
The One and Only God
God also make it clear that he is the one and only God.
It says in Isaiah 45:5-8, “I am the Lord, and there is no other, apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me, so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting men may know that there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form the light and create the darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things. You heavens above, rain down righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness grow with it; I the Lord, have created it.”
Just as he is the one and only God. Jesus is the one and only Savior. When sin entered this world that God created, he created a solution for it also so that we may not be lost forever.
Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
One God. One Savior. Many miracles to ponder. The majesty of God cannot be surpassed. He is amazing. He loves you wherever you are at, whatever you have done.
