Boldly Stepping Up

take action

I started because it’s time to take action in terms of my health, my faith, and in following my dreams. These three areas of my life are very important to me at this stage of my life and I believe that there are a lot of other people who are ready to take action for those things that are important to them as well.

There comes a time in all of our lives when we need to stop talking about what’s important to us and actually take action. As I move forward in these areas of my own life, I hope to encourage and inspire others to do the same.

First, in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 in says, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?” You are not our own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

If we don’t stay healthy and treat our bodies with respect, they will give out on us. They are only temporary vessels housing our true selves. We only get one body.

Second, without my faith in God or better yet, His faithfulness, I don’t know where I would be. I probably wouldn’t be here today. Understanding who God says I am as opposed to who the world or anyone else says I am has made all the difference in my life as well as understanding that when the apostle Paul says in Ephesians 6: 16 to “…take up the shield of faith…” that same Shield of faith is God’s Faithfulness (see Psalm 91:4).

God is totally faithful and his Word is true. Therefore, if he said it, I can believe it. It’s time to put action to my faith and not just talk about it because “faith without works is dead” (James 2:26).

That leads to the third area of following my dreams. According to Psalm 139:13, God “created my inmost being” and he “knit me together in my mother’s womb.” God created each one of us on purpose for a purpose. He created each one of us unique with different skills, talents, and abilities. The biggest struggle for me was figuring out just who he had created me to be.

I will be exploring all of these areas over the course of time and I hope you will join me on this journey and learn to be bold, take action, and follow your dreams as well.
